Nasarawa State Set to Provide Relief Material to Communities Affected by Crisis

The Nasarawa State Government is set to distribute another round of relief materials worth millions of Naira to over 50 communities affected by communal crisis that rendered thousands of people homeless across the state.

The Relief material which may very well go down in history as the biggest not just because of the large volume of items , but due to being the most concise due to the items given and their usefulness to the people that would use.

The Nasarawa State Government has continually called for continuous peaceful coexistence in the state, appealing to all on each ethnic nationality to stop harboring ill feeling, malice towards one another in other to move on.

Further warning that the State Government would not take it lightly with any groups or persons that try to antagonize and stir up communities.

To ensure transparency and openness the Nasarawa State Government has put in place some safe guards to ensure the items get to the communities they are meant for.;

1 Each vehicle will be tagged with a banner listing its complete contents to be checked when loading and when offloading.

2 Each vehicle would have 1 policeman, 1 civil defense, 1 NAYES official and three persons from the receiving community escorting the truck with items.

3 Government confidence as it reminds the community representatives of the trust and confidence government had put on them , tasking them to carry out their assigned duty with the fear of God for the good of their communities.

Warning that observers, journalists and the members of their communities had been urged to ensure that all was done to safeguard the relief materials, making sure it reaches those that needed them while monitoring all aspects of the distribution.

The items provided include Rice, Maize, Maggi, Cement, Zinc and Nails.

The flag off for the distribution is expected to be done Tuesday June 13th , 2017.
