Gov. Almakura Commissions Refurbished VIP Guest Houses Nasarawa@20

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has called on all citizens of the State the see the 20th Anniversary of the state as the beginning of better thing to come for the state .

Gov. Almakura made the call as he commissioned the 10 Units of VIP Guest Houses along Shendam road , Lafia, where he prayed that the All Mighty God continue to give Nasarawa State the opportunities to excel and become even better.

He made it known that the refurbishing , commissioning and putting to use of the VIP Guest House became absolutely necessary due to the fast growth and the need to diversify the Nasarawa State economy , which would involve providing hospitality and had put that burden on the government to provide accommodation to high profile guests and investors who would visit the state.

The Governor said they were now confident that they would be able to accommodate a large number of VIP given that they have a befitting environment to house them during their visits to the state and not have to put them in hotels at government expense.

He further explained that before now government officials that were yet to get accommodation would misuse the VIP Guest Houses , by taking any of the flats and live the way they want to live for as long as they want. He made it very clear that that system had gone, and the government would not allow just anyone occupy the place except that person was a special guest of the state government.

The VIP Guest Houses were built by then Gov. Abdullahi Adamu and originally commissioned by President Olusegun Obasanjo November 8th 2002, now refurbished and furnished with top of the line furniture and electronics 14 years later by Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura .
