Gov. Almakura Commissions Police Officers Quarters Akwanga , Lauds Police for peace keeping efforts in Nasarawa State.

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has commended the Nigerian Police Force for their efforts at ensuring peace in Nasarawa State and upholding law and order in Nasarawa state .

Gov. Almakura gave the commendation as he commissioned the Mobile Police Officers Quarters at the Mobile Police Barracks built by state government at Akwanga, which he said the governments’ way of supporting and assisting the police for their efforts in the state.

While commissioning the multi-million Naira structure he appreciated the efforts of the police in the state especially those that lost their lives at Alakiyo Village in May 7th 2013. He stated the quarters was to ensure the officers comfort so as to enable them train and guide their men well.

He commended the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris and current Commissioner of Police CP Abubakar Bello Sadiq for their ever active stance which has yielded results and kept the state peaceful.

Lastly , he made it known that having completed the Officer Quarters and the perimeter fencing the State government would soon move towards refurbishing the main barracks.

Receiving the structures on behalf of the Inspector General of Police the Nasarawa state commissioner of Police CP Abubakar Bello Sadiq thanked the Governor for his support to the force and appreciated his care and interest in the welfare of the police.

Speaking also at the even the IMC Chairman of Akwanga LGA Mr. Yakubu Kwanta commended the Gov. Almakura for his huge efforts at changing the status of security in the state stating that the state was lucky to have him.
