Nasarawa State Donates Structure to Serve as New Police Headquarters

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has made it known that the state Government was donating a structure within the Three Arms Zone of the State to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to serve as the new Police Headquarters For the Nasarawa State Command of the Police .

Gov. Almakura made this known following a visit to the School Of Nursing Lafia located at Shendam Road where he made it known that the government was embarking on robust and holistic physical planning of the state capital and the state as a whole, he said the government was making some corrections , changes and rehabilitation on certain structures to complement one another and to be in line with best practices.

Gov. Almakura who inspected all the hostels for the the School of Nursing in company of the State Commissioner of Police , Hon. Muhammed Muluku , the Commissioners of Health, Justice , Lands and works further stating that in most developed cities the major government establishments were located in secure locations and away from the main population for many reasons. He made it known that the structure would replace the currently choked Force Headquarters and provide befitting offices for the Police Commissioner, and other top officers as well as provide offices accommodation for the many departments of the Force.

The structure which was originally earmarked to be the second hostel for the School of Nursing Lafia , which was to provide for the increased additional intake after already having a hostel that could house almost 200 nursing trainees , but currently has accreditation for less than 100 students.

Lastly , the governor said the existing School of Nursing hostel would be refurbished and within the coming week construction would start on a new hostel for the school of nursing., which would soon start some new courses such as midwifery and community midwifery.
