Gov. Almakura Commissions 1500 Youth into Youth Empowerment Scheme, Tasks Them be Committed to the National Ideals.

Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura tasks newly commissioned Nasarawa State Youth Empowerment (NAYES) Marshals to be committed to the nation as the carry out their civic duties for which the scheme was founded.

Gov. Almakura made this known as he presented his speech at the 2nd passing out parade of the members at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Orientation Camp Keffi where 1500 fresh recruits were commissioned following an intensive one week training by the Army ,Nigerian Police Force Road Safety and Civil Defense .

He congratulated the trainees charging them to apply the lessons they have learnt while having a high sense of decorum , resilience , perseverance and above all disciple, while ensuring that patriotism to the country is their watch word. He tasked them to ensure that they safeguard our infrastructures and our communities from dubious members of society and ensuring peace.

He said their engagement was in line with the government’s policy trust employment generation wealth creation , poverty reduction and youth empowerment, which the state sort the participation of the constitutional authorities saddled to provide them such as the police , army , and other para military forces to assist in the training them to support them.

He made it clear that the scheme was ridding the streets of unemployed youth who are now playing a part in ensuring the peaceful coexistence in our society today. He explained that another batch of the scheme would commence within the next three months.

The NAYES Marshals would be posted as Sanitary Inspectors , Traffic Marshals , Community Watchers, and Facility Inspectors stating that they would all be given areas of operation where they would carry out.

The Governor used to event to assure the states participants in the Federal Government NPOWER programme that government was aware of their challenges and following discussions with the coordinators in Abuja they would soon have cause to smile.

He used the opportunity to commend Former Governor Sen. Abdullahi Adamu for having the foresight and wisdom to construct the NYSC Camp which is one of the best in the country for training today.

The event attracted a very wide audience which included the National Assembly members from the zone Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Hon. Gaza Johnatan Gbefwi , some Government Officials , Military and Mara Military officials as well as excited family members of the new NAYES Marshals .
