Nasarawa state Receives Commendation For Renewed Efforts at Waste Disposal in Karu Environs

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has commended the management of the Nasarawa State Waste Management Bureau for their efforts towards sanitizing the environment especially in the corridors to the FCT.

Gov. Almakura who made this known as he stopped at the Karu Office of the Waste Management Bureau to commend and encourage the management led under the leadership of the Director General roup Captain Tanko Auta (rtd) for the efforts which have been reaping fruits for the past three months.

The Governor made it known that their efforts have been noticed and the state had started to receive commendations for its tackling of the waste disposal problems in the state especially the Karu -Mararba axis which has recently been worked on .

The Governor assured the Waste Management Bureau of the full Support of the Government towards ensuring that all their problems are addressed to assist it towards achieving its goals and targets.

Responding The Waste Management Bureau Director General Group Captain Tanko Auta (rtd) commended the Gov. Almakura for the visit , assuring him of the continued determination of the Bureau to ensure the state is kept clean and cleared of waste.

The Waste Management D.G. made it known that the Bureau had acquired land and paid compensation on sites that it would use as dump sites for liquid and solid waste. Stating, that designs had been put up and were being worked on.

Captain Auta them made a case for the Mobile Courts to be set up in the area to assist I the trying and convicting persons that are violate the laws and dispose of waste carelessly. He said he had been I talks with the State Chief Judge who would handle the convening of the mobile courts.

The Governor them spoke to the staff encouraging them and assuring them that Government has noted their efforts, he then inspected the office premises, happy with the decision to plant trees to within the areas.
