Aisha Buhari, Gov. Tanko Al-Makura, Sen. Jummai Alhassan Commend NGO Efforts as Mccef Graduates 300 in its 6th Graduation Ceremony.

Mrs. Buhari represented by Dame Pauline Tallen at the 6th Graduation Ceremony of the Mother and Child Care Enhancement Foundation (MCCEF) praised the scheme for producing more enlightened mothers who would in turn raise enlightened children as well as reduce poverty.
She further praised the NGO for already working to prepare the 2017 action plan which would capture the 3 main areas of poverty reduction, health and education which Future Assured was also working on. Mrs. Buhari also commended Gov. Umaru Tanko Almakura for his kind support towards the wellbeing of women and children in Nasarawa State.
Lastly she called on women and children to take advantage of the efforts of Haj. Salamatu Tanko Almakura, congratulating the graduants for their success and wishing them well as they set off to change their fates.

Also speaking at the graduation His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura, the Governor of Nasarawa State commended Her Excellency Salamatu Almakura for the success of her NGO and successfully graduating some students every year with necessary skills to better their lives.
He acknowledged the efforts of the wives of Governors for their efforts at empowerment which is achieving its goal in communities, stating that the work they are doing is filling the gap and touching areas that are needed in nation building. He also commended the development partners for their efforts and assistance to the state.

Lastly he spoke on some of the efforts of the Nasarawa State Government towards widening the scope of Skill Acquisition and Inclusiveness through the ongoing partnership with the Singapore Institute for Technical Education where the State Government had procured equipment worth over 350 million Naira and the Construction of 1000 student capacity Special School that would cater for the disabled.

Also speaking at the ceremony the Minister for Women Affair Sen, Jummai Alhassan commended MCCEF for focusing on women and children who are the most overlooked when it comes to empowerment policies, stating that women were half of the nation and “would be the future as girls or nurture the future as mothers”.


Further stating the importance of the programme as it focuses on the enterprising nature of women, which would play a big part toward reducing poverty in the nation, stating that such programmes were in line with the Federal Governments policy goals for women and children.

Commending the MCCEF Founder for not only training the graduates but empowering them with tools and equipment needed to move themselves forward, stating that the smiles on their faces show that her ministry and its partners were on the right track.

While delivering her address, the Founder of MCCEF Haj. Salamatu Tanko Almakura thanked Almighty Allah for making it all possible and acknowledged all that had come to witness the event. She commended the Governor and the Government of Nasarawa state for the support given to her to have enabled her train 600 students so far.

Lastly, she called on the public and all those yet to be gainfully employed to take up skills that would empower them and give them a good source of income.

The Chairman of the event Chairman and Chief Executive of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASEI) Prof. Sani Haruna who made it known he was delighted to chair such an event as he himself was as product of a technical education where he spoke in agreement with Her Excellency on the need to train persons providing them needed skills to move forward in life.

Commending the Founder for having the determination to keep up with such as life changing programme which would assist greatly in bridging the gap as he unveiled a magazine about the efforts and successes of the Mother and Child Care Enhancement Foundation (MCCEF).

The glamorous event also had in attendance the wives of the Governors of Kano, Adamawa, Borno, Niger, Benue, Gombe and Plateau states, Prof Mohammed Mainoma as well as representatives from UNESCO , Institute of Human Virology, NASACA,, Zack Orji and others.

The ceremony was highlighted by presentation of certificates and working tools, a magazine launch (MCCEF News Watch) and performances showcasing Nasarawa state heritage with extra ordinary performance by the Nasarawa State Isa Kungar Cultural Troupe which brought almost all the governors wives and Dame Tallen to their feet to celebrate the best graduation of Mother and Child Care Enhancement Foundation so far.

His Excellency Silas Ali Agara who gave wonderful vote of thanks at the event thanked everybody especially Her Excellency the Wife of the President Aisha Buhari for their presence and support towards the successful hosting of 6th Graduation of MCCEF.
He prayed for their safe return back to their various destinations
